First Dance Songs

Your first dance song on your wedding day is a special moment that will last a lifetime and the choice of songs for a first dance is extensive so you need to take your time in selecting a first dance that is personal to you both.

Before announcing your first dance the DJ will gather your guests around the edge of the dance floor. You will then be invited to the dance floor to perform your  chosen first dance wedding song as a married couple.

If you have rehearsed a special routine for your wedding song do make sure that the DJ has the correct version of your chosen song , perhaps by a certain artist, or maybe an extended version.  Specially rehearsed  dances for wedding songs always go down very well with the guests and will be one of the highlights of your evening.

After a minute or so into your first dance song the parents can be invited to the floor, followed by the Best Man, Ushers, Bridesmaids etc, unless of course you have arranged a special routine.

When To Perform Your First Dance Song

Your wedding First Dance will very often follow on from the cutting of your wedding cake although it is ultimately up to you.

It is best to allow most of your evening guests to arrive before commencing with the cake cutting and first dance so that everyone can be a part of the moment.

You may follow your first dance wedding song with a second slow song or something faster if you wish. This will be discussed with your DJ prior to your wedding reception.
